Individual Counseling is not done alone. Gain a perspective that will enable you to find a place to begin . . .
Sometimes facing a challenge feels overwhelming or at the least very frustrating. It's right in your face and you can't seem to work through it or around it. The result is a lost perspective. My aim is to help you take a step back, improve your outlook thus freeing you to work through your "field" or challenge. Adjusting your perspective will allow you to see the steps you can take to progress.
Whatever the challenge you face, whether it's depression, anxiety or an addiction I would like to help you work through it. Breaking your challenges into more manageable pieces or smaller fields helps you overcome feeling overwhelmed. Then we focus on what is most important until the momentum of change really kicks in.
There is a saying I heard once that goes something like, "Let me hear what I say, so I know what I think." That might describe what many experience when they come for counseling. The opportunity to talk without feeling judged enables us to explore ideas and solutions and in turn develop motivation to progress. Most people, when offered the right support, have the ability to work through their problems - we are our own experts. Meeting with a therapist who can listen and sometimes challenge us can enable us to face our trials when we feel stuck or lost. This is the opportunity I offer to you.
